I like the tension and intense emotions, and the stakes. Once things get really bloody I tend to wrap things up quickly because at that point it's no longer really appealing to me. I also settled down on the predator/prey dynamic because I found I'm not quite comfortable with tamer but more realistic scenarios. Regular non-con sadly happens to real people all the time. So I prefer to deal in extreme, weird, unrealistic scenarios. It's also more fun to imagine what would a bizarre messed up alternate reality might work like than to try to get into the head of a regular terrible person.

Predators don't want to exterminate prey. They're not going to burn down villages or crops. They don't want to rule them either or keep them as slaves -- they're aware prey are intelligent and feel at least some discomfort there, which is kept at bay by maintaining a distance and mostly sticking to some rules. Taking over would be very messy. You'd have a few predators having to keep constant watch over a few prey, the prey would unavoidably learn secrets, there's the problem of developing a sympathy for your food, and so on. Predators want prey to thrive, doing their own thing, just in a controllable fashion, without presenting a threat. I really like Liam, too.
