If you happened to read ddt's latest comic you might've caught what was said in one of the earliest pages, that Sage was in fact cloned from not just a Mew, but a goddess. That one is indeed Izabelle! Bun isn't willing to disclose why Sage didn't end up as big or powerful as Izabelle, but one rumor say mortal machines couldn't quite 'keep up' with the raw power from even a strand of fur from her. Regardless, after over 20 years Sage finally got to meet her 'other mother' and needless to say, she was... surprised. One might say that Sage's being disrespectful to Izabelle there, but she just find the initial reaction adorable and amusing, so no harm done! This also explains Sage's above average-sized tail =w=
