Base gen -> 2x hi-res fix -> block out and inpaint major flaws -> 2x upscale with SD upscale -> then inpaint everything again step by step (ie. head, ears, eyes, mouth, shoulders, etc.) until I'm either satisfied or most often fed up with it and just say fuck it. Though sometimes maybe being so detailed focused is a bit of detriment? Like in this pic I have no clue how I didn't notice the weird color tone and over-saturation until after I posted it. Oh well 😐
