La'nora grew up in an Amish-like clan and in that grew up learning how to cook on wood fire stoves. Moving to the city and eating mostly out of the Gun-Jack Cafeteria and simple sandwiches. Not understanding the knobs with numbers on them and as a result turned everything all the way up and being used to her clans stoves and ovens being slower to cook. So she burned everything because she was prepping other parts of the Pie.
