Besides that, if eevee were such social animals that they'd care about their immediate family's evolution, I highly doubt they'd compete with others of their species so aggressively that an entire war would break out. Either that, or they're so individualistic (as depicted here) that they have no need to compete after evolving. Either way, I don't think the author thought this through.
You are overanalyzing it to the point youre killing the fun idea. They even say "led by their evolved overlords". So yes, families of eevees working together are literally mentioned in the post. They are then shown fighting as evolved forms, likely so they can evolve more on their own sides. Or as I put it, mafia family stuff.

This could entirely become a mafia joke with certain families being owners of each mine.
That does make sense, but that's not exactly highlighted here. They already evolved, they have no use for the stones and have zero reason to want to defend the remaining stones from other eevee. Furthermore it’s also a bit odd for alternate evolutions to have appeared only after the war was over. You’d think that the scarcity of the stones would be an infinitely bigger motivator for alternatives over a time of peace in which the population doesn’t outweigh the resource.
yeah, I had very similar thoughts I think the first could be justified if there was still an economic incentive for getting the stones (i.e. selling them to other eevees for high prices—although I'd think eveelutions would rather pay others to fight for them than fight themselves), but idk about the second one

so im going to throw this out there it should be only the first 3 eeveelution that should be hard to get right because leafeon and glaceon they have to be near the moss rock and ice rock or can evolve though the leafstone and icestone right?

*be flareon* *in great eevee war* *use flare blitz* *accidentally cull yourself*

Gotta hand it to Staryu, dude can draw insanely fast.

This might actually be a good explanation why Psiana, Umbreon and sylveon evolve through friendship/IQ

The idea of an eevee war over evolution stones mines is hilarious. Was not expecting that explanation

That Sylveon got too much pink energy.

Isn't too much pink energy dangerous?
