Gaijin Goomba created a video called "You DON" GET Aggretsuko" where he brought the reason for the show's later seasons becoming polarizing was due to cultural differences between Western and Japanese viewer. Plus while Japanese fans are into shipping the characters, they don't turn it into a shipping war as Western fans are. Also Japanese Sanrio fans are more reserve, respectful, and take Sanrio Characters very seriously over there. You can tell the final seasons were made with Japanese viewers in mind.

They're really big on the guy not accepting a 'no' and pushing the matter until she 'falls in love with him'. I never personally got that. Sometimes you shoot your shot and it doesn't land. Doesn't mean the end of the world. Like, it's one thing for the girl to be uncertain, or teasing, or that sorta thing where there's clearly SOMETHING there, but often times there just...isn't. Very annoying.

[/quote] It's the natural consequence of having a will they/won't they dynamic where the show spends four and a half seasons of its five season run coming up with new and increasingly [s]stupid[/s] exciting "won't they"-s. And then for some unfathomable reason during all of this the writers decide to give Haida more chemistry with other female characters that he either doesn't show any interest in (Fenneko) or outright rejects for no reason despite them being into each other (Inui) to show the viewers... Actually I have no idea what they were trying to do there. [i]But[/i] most importantly of all by doing that they graciously opened the door for talented artists like Canaryprimary to step in and deliver absolute fanmade gold time and time again. Especially Canaryprimary because as we all know he literally never misses and I hope he stays as obsessed with Haida x Fenneko as the rest of us because holy moly just [i]look[/i] at that animation up there.
