Another board in the small white room of the Arlington House Museum. Here's what it says:

Little Bristol

"Right from the start, the bulk of Speightstown's commerce was with the English port of Bristol, and so the town was soon dubbed Little Bristol. The bustling trade reached such a peak that on January 9, 1654, the government issued an act forcing merchants to keep the jetties and surrounding areas clear. Henceforth, any importer who left goods standing there for more than a week would be fined 500 pounds of sugar - with half going to the person who reported the infraction!"

Mile and a Quarter

"Located in the parish of St. Peter, Speightstown, sometimes written Spike Town, is so named in honour of William Speight, a local landowner who was a member of Barbados's first General Assembly in 1639. In the colony's earliest days, allotments of land with sea frontage were granted to a depth of a mile and a quarter inland. The name Mile and a Quarter is still used today in reference to the parish district near the junction of Highways 1 and 2a."
