A cel-shaded commission of my vialfang manticore character recently finished by Melianah with a few alt versions.

This piece focuses on his slit to augment my ref sheet a bit. Here I went for a slit that is unambiguously male.

The gold cracks on his face shell are an optional design accent I had on my ref sheet, suggesting cracks repaired with gold-dusted lacquer like kintsugi. Skar's body design is big on ornamentation so this is just another example.

Vialfang eyes change color to indicate mood, which helps with emotional expression since their eyes are otherwise unchanging and their chitinous face can't move (although the chelicerae/external mandibles are mobile). Pink means flustered.

With these last two commissions I had sensory hairs added to the venomous spurs on his limbs, matching the hairs on the stinger's venom gland (little black lines). I think they look REALLY good, should've thought to include them on my ref sheet a couple years ago!
