[q]You and your party were just enjoying a leisurely day on the Sword Coast. You were between job right now, and hadn't decided what city you wanted to head to to seek out work. You never really got time to relax, and had finally decided to take a break and just enjoy life for a bit. The only member missing was your wizard, who had gone to a nearby town, having been told there was a wizard there who specialized in a magic they were interested in learning more about.

It shouldn't have surprised you when you, though, when that peace was destroyed by a bunch of goblins darting out of the forest near your camp, likely intent on killing or robbing you. Too bad for them, you weren't some random trader or family camping. You were an experienced party - and after the initial surprise of the attack, you were able to take care of them rather easily. Your party quickly traced its source - a tabaxi was standing just outside the same forest the goblin had come out of, and he had an bow in hand. A second shot came - this one hitting one of the goblins in the neck, killing it with a splutter of blood.

The tabaxi apparently wasn't expecting the spell that immobilized him a second later - your bard having decided it was better safe than sorry. After the fight was over, which wasn't long after, your party gathered around that immobilized tabaxi.

But communication seemed to be an issue - the tabaxi wouldn't speak. You tried hand gestures, drawing on the ground - but to no avail. The barbarian wanted to harm the tabaxi, "Let me just shove this arrow into HIS leg!" Maybe he was mute. Or maybe he just didn't want to talk.

In the end, though, it was decided to restrain him and wait for your wizard to return in a few days. He had spells that should work. He gave no resistance when you were wrapping the rope around him. He followed without complaint. He just kept looking at all of you. Staring...[/q]

This came up after talking about D&D with some folks on here.

Hopefully you enjoy!
