I can tell what you're going for, but that treadmill parses as super flimsy. The visual design of treadmills is for whatever reason somewhat tightly correlated with how robust they're designed to be. A treadmill that looks like this is generally going to break down in a hurry if you do anything other than walk on it. Seeing that kind of treadmill in this situation detracts from the premise a bit. The treadmill is itself making a show of weakness.
