Skarrgards really aren’t that bad, I’d say? Fast for their size and damage but not any faster than the other enemies of Hunter’s March. The area in general too, but I do get the complaints.
For a place that can reasonably be the third area you visit, the enemies and platforming are several steps above what you’ve been dealing with up til this point… The platforming can be made easier with any crest with a “standard” down-air (i.e wanderer or reaper) but I don’t think the enemies here are that bad… When they stack up it’s an issue, yes, but there’s merit to their ways.
I don’t see them any differently than the mantises in the first game, since… if you ask me, the ants are just the mantises taken to the next level. A sapient tribal faction of enemies with an early-game area dedicated to themselves, armed with movesets that encourage pattern recognition and quick-thinking. Considering how much more involved and athletic Hornet is compared to the Knight, it checks out in my head.
Even the one Skarrgard at the top of Hunter’s March with the spear guy assisting him was… maybe not okay but I just focused on playing evasive and only directing hits towards the lower mook. Once you get him out of the way it’s standard protocol with the Skarrgard itself… FUCK Savage Beastfly though, could’ve been a perfectly enjoyable, perhaps even easy miniboss without the additional minions.

Good to know I'm not struggling as much as I thought I was, damn! Also love these accurate Hornet depictions.
