After establishing Juni as a repeat character, I invariably wanted to throw Roland into the mix. As my collaboration and exchange with Tetsuo was becoming pretty common at this point, I threw Roland into “Tetsuo’s Gym” as a bit of a groupie, whose whole presence was dedicated to nothing more than having lots of sex with the more serious boxers. While this is a completely self-indulgent move, it ended up making the stories more fun to write, and I got to play to my own tastes as well as Tetsuo’s.
