Nice chapter with barely any spoilers and does a good job in showing Genko, Ioryogi and them interacting with each other!

So...do you guys know Genko? Maybe you saw him before in Kobato, but that's not the first time he showed up~

Originally, he showed up as a character in a series of little illustrations that CLAMP posted on their official "clamp-net.com" website. It seems the girls from CLAMP were experimenting with some designs for future stories since after that they would make a series of small short stories called  "The cursed creature Ioryogi ". From what I could find, those short stories didn't get an ending. Only later would he show up in "Kobato", alongside the rest of the cast from those short stories.

While the characters and the setting from "The cursed creature Ioryogi" and "Kobato" are similar, they are different stuff. It's like they were characters in a multiverse thing, so one Genko is different from the other!  Both are quite gruff and easy to get angry but kind-hearted and watch over the other characters, even going as far as giving them good advice....at least the Kobato Genko, heh.

In Kobato, he was given a backstory, just like the rest of the cast that showed up in  "The cursed creature Ioryogi". So in there, he was a member of the nobility in the "Other World" and joined Ioryogi in a battle against heaven. They lost, and he and his friends who joined that battle were punished. Genko became a brown bear (no, we never see his original form, but it seems he and the others looked like to be humans) who lives in the Spirit World, working as the owner of a Baum-kuchen shop. The name? Bear's Baum-kuchen, of course, haha~

He is great at making cakes and stuff like that, and is very proud of his work. He's also very good at gathering information since Ioryogi goes to him when he needs information about something from the human realm!

Genko and Ginsei could play together when there were no customers around, exploring each other's new bodies and the animal lust that sometimes they felt. Amarao and Zobos also think such a scenario could be quite fun, and with the potential for many ideas like this, which we asked fenne to draw~
