"The axolotl's head was still swimming in delight, fascinated by 'performance' the glittery python had insisted that she put on for him. Initially nervous, tightly wound up in her long thick muscles, all his worries seemed to disappear once she gave him a glance and started her dance. Swirling, twirling, the snake moved in waves and loops that seemed to go on forever, and the shimmering light reflecting off of her scales was like watching a vibrant fireworks display, lingering flashes of color flooding his field of view. It seemed to go on forever—or at least he thought it had, because the light show was overwhelming his mind. It was comfortable, relaxing, somehow made its own warmth, its own music, like an ethereal melody. She said something to him that he couldn't really catch and giggled while the beautiful show continued. He could have sworn the colors were physically there washing over him. He reached out to touch it--anything, as though lost in a dark room--and felt her tail giving a reassuring nudge. Ah, good, she's still there, he thought, unaware that this had happened minutes before and he's only now noticing it. It'll be quite a while before it registers that she's swallowed him up entirely."

Not written by me - that's a vignette by Scott, the creator of this lovely piece.

I'm sure Kevin will be fine...
