h4.Moments Before Disaster
Enorach and Lars sparring, mere moments before disaster, because in about a second Eno will be thrown around and ragdolled SO hard. :P
The pose is based on an illustration from the 14th century fencing manual Fior di Battaglia, by Fiore dei Liberi. Normally you'd never find yourself in this position with a greatsword, as the swords portrayed in the manual are much shorter, but by now that's Eno's signature weapon and I had to add it. Who knows, maybe they were purposefully practising close-up and grappling techniques, you need to be prepared for all sorts of scenarios after all!

I'm sure there are HEMA folks out there will insist that there is a German word for the maneuver that MUST be used. KatzenSchmackenFacenSchlag or something at least thirty letters long. And then the HEMAtalians will say "no, no, it's-a 'Gatto Spada Colpire'! [i]Approved-a![/i]" Meantime, we SCA types are hitting each other as hard as we can and counting victories by the dents in our opponents' armor, then getting drunk on homebrew and having epic tent-sex.
