experimented with taking a few traditional commissions in the 'style' of my recent 'petshop' images I did.
As with my personal work, I had to test stylization and materials for the figures, translating OCs into different species (discussed beforehand) or configuring extant/suggested markings into traditional supplies.
The first couple: a Ferret & a Cat
The second couple: a European Badger & 3 barn kittens (ginger, cow, & white)
The third couple: the same kittens, and some meat rabbits (champagne d'argent)
I want to become more confident with traditional media for involved pieces with backgrounds! I've always been pretty afraid to endeavor backgrounds traditionally; it takes a LOT of planning an consideration .... minding the layers... materials.... how those materials interact... somehow this cute style & smaller scope of environ makes me feel like I can try finally.
I always love sketching/doodling traditionally, but placing figures in environments is another story...
still a bit clumsy & clunky with it, but pleased with the results of this experiment, and hope I can take a few more down the line.
