“Hmm?” Chaos hums softly, tilting his head slightly to the side as he picks up Yoshi’s hat. “Huh? Wonder why he left this thing all by itself?” He muses aloud, looking over the Bunnoki’s iconic clothing. He never saw Yoshi without it, and admittingly Chaos was a bit confused as to why it was here though. Looking around a bit he shrugs and puts the thing back down, squirming slightly as he couldn’t help but feel a bit of a weird pull from the hat. Shaking his head a bit he does his best to ignore it. Not wanting to be rude and put on something he knew was personal to Yoshi. But still he couldn't help but feel that pull in the back of his mind. Raising a hand to his head he gives a small shake of his head, quickly getting back to cleaning. It had been awhile since Chaos had a day off, he had thought that it would just be him relaxing for the day, resting up and enjoying himself. Instead however he found himself cleaning the house all day. Going through pretty much every inch of the house, he hadn’t realized just how little he and Yoshi had kept up keeping the house clean. Though all while continuing to clean he feels his mind drifting back to Yoshi’s hat, still curious as to why he would leave it here. Let alone why he felt so drawn to it, giving a small shake of his head he tries his best to ignore that growing sense of desire in the back of his head. He couldn’t help but wonder if Yoshi would mind him wearing it, the hat was a pretty cute thing. Though he wasn’t sure if he could pull it off himself. Focusing a bit more on cleaning the house, and once that was done he sits down on the couch. Exhaling softly as he finally has time to just relax. A soft yawn leaving his mouth as he leans onto his hand. Steadily starting to drift off to sleep. Already feeling his eyelids getting blurry, Chaos leans over, resting his head on the couch. A quick nap couldn’t hurt, not like he had much energy left after cleaning all day. Plus it would help keep his mind off of the hat, which still seemed to linger in the back of his mind. Huffing softly and rolling over he drifts off into sleep. As he slept Chaos’ dreams started to drift slightly, strange thoughts filling his mind. He found himself standing in front of a mirror. Staring into it curiously, reaching a hand up to feel over his body with a slight hum of curiosity. Looking in the mirror, leaning forwards to get a better look at himself he could tell that it wasn’t his body he was in. But despite that he couldn’t really see what he looked like, it was like everything in front of him was a blur. Feeling over his body with a slightly curious hum. He knew that it was familiar, though he just couldn’t tell what. Though vaguely he could hear the sounds of footsteps steadily approaching from behind him, perking up the Husky turns around, glancing over his shoulder at.. Himself? Or at least what he actually looked like, his husky self. Tilting his head slightly with a hint of confusion he couldn’t help but wonder why he was staring at himself, but at the same time. It almost felt like it was normal in a way, it just didn’t make any sense to him even as “he” moved closer, and closer to Chaos until finally.. “You just gonna sleep in all day?” A voice asks, jolting Chaos awake with a snort, sitting up in his seat as he starts to look around. Yoshi, the Bunnoki, crosses his arms with a very proud of himself smirk. His ears folding back as he smiles at his friend. “Heh you must have really conked out huh? It took me a good bit to wake you.” He says patting his friend on the head. Looking up Chaos notices of course, that he still didn’t have his hat on him. Yoshi quickly notices, turning his head away with a furious blush, rubbing the back of his head. “Pretty noticeable huh? It’s been bothering me all day as well.” He remarks with a bit of a huff. “The house looks great though, I could tell you’ve been cleaning it. You wouldn’t have happened to have seen my hat?” He blushes a bit deeper, but turns his attention back to his friend. Still blushing but sporting a bit of a sheepish grin now. “I know I probably left it somewhere in my room of course though I can’t for the life of me find it.” He explains, sighing and leaning back to sit next to Chaos. Chaos glances around, still waking up from a bit of a daze. Yawning again he covers his mouth with a paw before looking up to Yoshi. “H-hmm? Your hat? Yeah I saw it earlier in your room…” He murmurs tiredly as he stretches out. Rubbing at his temples with a small groan, he wasn’t sure why but he couldn’t remember where he saw it last. His mind still clouded from the dream. “I can help you find it if you want?” He adds, stretching as he fully sits back up. “Oh? Well it can always wait until later as well~ You seem exhausted after all.” Yoshi questions, tilting his head as he looks his friend over, raising a brow curiously as Chaos smiles. “Cleaning must have really taken a lot out of you.” He teases his friend, giving him a few nudges with his elbow. Chaos offers a smirk as the two of them get back up. “Until then how about we get something to eat, I’m still starving myself~” Yoshi laughs slightly, reaching down to give his belly a few quick, but firm pats across it. Sticking his tongue out with a smile. As the two of them sit down to eat they start to chat about each other's day. Chaos had to admit. Despite his roommate just going to work and having a pretty average day the husky couldn't help but feel just a bit more interested, after all his whole day had been nothing but cleaning, and it was meant to be his day off. Though in the back of his mind he could feel his thoughts starting to drift again, strange ones filling his mind once more as he leaned a bit on his hand, slowly starting to drift into thought. A slight hum leaves his mouth as he gives a nod to Yoshi. Something about all of this felt ever so slightly off. Like there was something else he was trying to remember. Though he couldn't think on it for too much longer, perking up as he sees Yoshi push his chair back and get back up. He wasn't sure how long he had zoned out for, but while his friend had already eaten he had barely touched his own meal. Blushing slightly he reaches a hand up, rubbing softly at the back of his head as he quickly eats as fast as he can. Though it seemed like Yoshi was a bit off in a bit of his own world as well. Though unlike him Chaos could guess that it was probably for a good reason. "Today just seems like an off day for everyone. Maybe it would be best to go ahead, and get some rest for the night? We can always look for the hat tomorrow." He offers. Once again putting on a good bit of a smile. Softly crossing his arms as he looks over to Chaos. It was apparent in his look that he was a bit uncomfortable with the situation, though the husky had to admit he was right, despite the nap he still just was feeling incredibly exhausted. Nodding in agreement, Chaos pushes himself out of his seat, and with some help from the rest of the Yoshi the two of them quickly get to cleaning up after themselves. It felt nice, despite the weird feeling. Everything that night seemed to be going well, it did give him some hope that they would be able to find his friend's hat no problem. "Well either way I'll see you tomorrow~" with that, the two of them part ways in the house. Heading towards their respective rooms. Chaos sighs softly, rubbing the back of his head once more as he closes the door behind him. Hopefully a bit more rest would help him get his mind off of all of these weird thoughts, and most importantly off the idea of wearing… His friends… Hat? As he closes the door behind him his eyes glance over the room in front of them, eventually landing on the hat at his bedside. Of course it was Yoshi's, there was no mistaking it resting right at his bedside. Though how could that be? He knew that he didn't grab it, or at least was nearly positive that he didn't. Sure he came back to his room while cleaning up to grab a few things for the trash, though he didn't put anything down. At least he thought he hadn't, yet no matter how many at least he had, the truth showed that it was in his room. Walking over with a tilt of his head and a small confused hum, Chaos reaches down and picks it up, giving it a quick once over. As if really making sure that it was the Bunnoki's hat. Sure enough there was no mistaking it. Well that was easy enough to solve. All he had to do now was turn around, walk to his friend's room and give him back the hat. Which is what he should have been doing right now? Instead he found himself still sitting there. Staring at the hat with a look of curiosity, his thoughts still muting over wearing it. Something he argued with himself a good long while about, he knew he probably shouldn't. But at the same time he wanted to just sate this curiosity and get it over with. After all, it was just a hat, nothing more. What could possibly happen by just wearing a simple hat? Plus Yoshi had probably already gone to bed, he had time to put it on just real quick. Then he could take it off, pretend he found it somewhere the next morning and fix this dumb mistake of his, easy as that. As he reasoned that with himself he found himself agreeing with it more, and more. It was an easy fix, and he didn't want to wake his friend right as he had gotten to sleep. It only made sense after all. Smiling a bit to himself as he looks down at the hat. Chuckling slightly as he runs his fingers along its nice, smooth surface. He can't help but chuckle quietly to himself. It simply felt so comfortable, he could easily understand why Yoshi would wear something like this. But clearing his throat he gingerly holds the hat, making his way over to the bed to sit down and stare down at it. Chaos had no idea why he felt like this over some silly hat, but as he lifts it up onto his head he can feel a strange tingle suddenly spread through his body. While he had felt tired before, now he could barely keep his eyes open. Struggling to stay awake as that tingling spreads through him. "M-mrrrf? W-what?" He mumbles tiredly to himself, looking down at his hands his body almost seemed to waver. Though unable to.keep his eyes open any longer he groans softly, falling back onto his bed. Conking out almost right away, in his sleep he can still feel that tingle throughout his whole body, and it only seemed to be growing stronger, with each passing second., slowly growing stronger with each passing moment. Once more in his dream he could feel like he wasn't in his own body. But things seemed a bit clearer now. He was in his body… At least at first, looking down as himself he watches as patches of brown fur start to spread slowly over his body. Eyes widening a bit as he stares down at his changing form. The fur looked a lot like a certain friend of his. Various shades of brown that looked exactly like Yoshi's. Reaching up he could still feel the hat on top of his head. For just a moment he thinks to try and take it off. But then he pauses once more, a strange thought flickers across his mind once more. Why would he take it off, it didn't make sense to remove the hat. It was his hat after all.. Wait no it wasn't his hat.. It was Yoshi's hat! Though as he thinks this his tail suddenly fluffs up, turning into one more akin to his friend, a proper bunnoki tail. One that eagerly sways around under him. Soon even feeling a tugging on his face, pushing and pulling all over as his face is steadily restructured. Turning into what felt right. What felt fitting for the hat.. Another shirt grunt and snort of surprise leaves his mouth as he quickly sits up in bed. He could see the early morning rays shining through the window opposite of him. He groans softly, cocking his head to the side, rubbing his eyes slightly as he tries to put together his mind again. The dream lingers in the back of his head, it was still there, but it was hard to remember specifics. Just how weird it felt, before turning right. He shivers slightly from the memory of it, shakily picking himself back up and out of bed he couldn't help but feel a bit different than usual. He doesn't even remember to check for the hat on his head. Yawning softly to himself, rubbing the back of his head as he makes his way out of the room. Making his way past Yoshi's room he heads downstairs, quickly starting to get some breakfast. Licking his lips and sitting down he starts to eat, though as he does his eyes drift down towards his arms. It doesn't take long for him to notice something else, something that was off. Chaos stares at the brown fur on his arm for a good few minutes. Trying to understand just what he was looking at. That wasn't his fur? It didn't even look like husky fur.. But that wasn’t it, his paws. The sheer size of the things, they were massive. Possibly even triple their normal size, once again they looked familiar not his own but.. If anything it looked like… The thought trails off as he quickly gets to his feet. Turning on his heels and hurrying through the living room, up the stairs and towards the bathroom. Quickly throwing the bathroom door open he skids to a stop in front of the mirror, staring into his own reflection again. Once again seeing a familiar flicker in his mind. This same scene he saw in his dream. Tilting his head up he stares back at himself, seeing Yoshi's face reflected in the mirror. Reaching a hand up he presses it into his fur. His mind racing slightly, confusion, shock, and strangely, a bit of excitement race through his mind as he feels over his body. Chaos couldn't help but blush as he feels over himself, but despite the feeling he knew that this wasn't right. He had to get back in his own body, his eyes soon moving up towards the hat. Reaching up he takes it off, holding it in front of him as he stares into the mirror. He stares from a good few minutes waiting with baited breath to start turning back. Though no longer how long he waited it became obvious that nothing was happening. Finally breathing out in defeat he puts the hat back on. Crossing his arms as he tried to think of how to fix this.. There had to be some option he could take to get back to normal. Especially since he had to get back up before Yoshi.. Or he assumed the original Yoshi, looking at himself. He had to find some way to get back to normal! Though right as he's thinking this he hears the door slowly creaking open behind him. His ears perk up as he turns around. Expecting to see Yoshi there in much of a state of shock, and possibly annoyance, he instead sees a very tired Husky yawning heavily. Starting to make his way into the room. Of course he knew who the husky was, it was him! Or rather his body. Chaos just stares as the husky yawns and starts to look towards Chaos. Before suddenly freezing himself. The two of them continue to stare down one another, wordlessly and motionlessly. It was almost like time had frozen around them. It wasn't until the Chaos standing opposite of Chaos finally speaks that the moment is frozen. "O-oh no.. You put on the hat didn't you?" He asks, looking at the hat in Chaos's hands. The now bunnoki quickly reaches his hands back, hiding the hat behind his back as he flashes a bit of a nervous smile. Rubbing the back of his head with a nervous chuckle. The husky that Chaos now realized was Yoshi sighs softly, shaking his head as he rubs the back of his head once more. “Well that would explain why I woke up like this.” He hums softly in a tad amount of annoyance, pacing the bathroom a good bit as he tries to think. “Well let’s see.. I’ve never really had something like this happen before.” He says looking at the hat in Chaos’s hands. “We should have already started to turn back by now, and yet we’re still both stuck in the other’s body.” Chaos watches him pace back and forth, not quite understanding what he was talking about, but after a few seconds it seems to click for him. Looking back towards his friend he waited until Yoshi seemed to not be as lost in thought to finally speak up, clearing his throat as he looks up to his friend. Gulping softly. “W-wait are you saying you don’t know how to fix this?” He questions, looking towards his friend with a look of worry. He wasn’t even sure what had happened, or really why. Sure he understood that at least somewhat it was caused by the hat, but still that didn’t help with anything. “Hmm I really don’t. Again I haven’t seen anything like this with my hat.” Yoshi explains crossing his arms. “So I don’t really know what to do… However, sitting around here isn’t going to help anyone, so how about we get some stuff done, and try to figure this out together.” He smiles with Chaos’s face, offering a hand out with a warm smile. Chaos felt that sense of worry drain slightly from his body, taking a long deep breath to calm back down, offering a smile in return before taking Yoshi’s hand. Giving it a single, firm shake with a smirk. “Awesome, let’s get going then~” The two of them quickly head back downstairs, Chaos putting the hat back onto his head for safekeeping as they step into the living room. Yoshi meanwhile takes a look around, furrowing his brow slightly as he tilts his head a bit. “Hmmm.. That’s weird. I can't seem to remember where I put those books.” He mutters quietly to himself, though while he says this Chaos takes a look around, tapping his muzzle with one massive finger, almost as if he were thinking himself. Closing his eyes he could almost picture something. Something he knew was important, but then without even thinking he starts to walk forwards, kneeling down by the living room cabinet. Using his massive paws to open a secret compartment on the ground with a bit of a smile. Yoshi meanwhile is shocked to see this, jaw dropping as he steps forwards. Raising a brow at Chaos who brings it out. “How exactly did you know that was there?” He asks, not really accusing more, worried. Chaos glances back up, only able to offer a small shrug back to his friend. “Uhh.. I can’t quite be sure myself. I just kinda saw it here.” He explains taking out a few heavy books. Carrying them with those huge grabbers with no issue. “I don’t really know if that makes sense, but it was just kinda in my mind?” He puts on a sheepish smile as he sets the book down on the table. Yoshi lets out another small hum as he starts to flip through the book. Chaos leans slightly over his shoulder to try and get a better look. While at first he didn’t really get what he was looking at, the longer he stared the more things started to click in his mind. Like puzzles slowly starting to fall into their rightful place. He quickly realized that this was some kind of book of weird phenomena. Things that were very obviously not normal. Though why did he know that, and more importantly, why did Yoshi look way more confused than him. The husky flipping through the pages, rubbing the back of his head as he seemed to be looking for something in specific. “Hmmm I can’t seem to find anything on this. It’s not meant to swap bodies like this, what could have caused this.. It would certainly help if I knew just what I was doing though, it’s gotten a bit hard to think clearly..” He mutters quietly to himself. He sighs, giving another shake of his head as he frowns. “Hey Yoshi, er.. I mean Chaos, how are you holding up?” He questions, Chaos’s ears suddenly perking up, almost like a strange ping had suddenly shot through his mind. Offering a smile to his friend with a nod. “Doing pretty okay Chaos, why do you ask?” He questions the same ping suddenly seeming to shoot through Yoshi, his ears perking up as the both of them seem to go blank for just a few moments, the hat on top of Chaos’s head glowing bright once more for just a second. The two of them are engulfed by the light. Quickly having their memories slowly overwritten, bit by bit the pieces fall where they were meant to. While the two had swapped bodies their minds hadn’t fully adjusted quite yet. Soon enough however the light steadily starts to fade again, the two friends giving a few blinks. “H-hmm? That was weird..” Yoshi says rubbing at the back of his head with those hyper hands. Something felt weird for a few moments, giving his head a few pats. Checking for his hat.. Nope it was still there, just where it was meant to be. Looking back down towards the books he wonders why they were there. Picking them back up while Chaos looks around a bit in a daze. “Pretty weird books you got Yoshi.” Chaos comments as they’re taken from the husky, in the back of his mind thought he could still feel like there was something off about all of this. But slowly, bit by bit he could feel that feeling steadily fading away. He knew that he didn’t have to worry about everything, just sorta shrugging off the strange feeling. “Well anyways, let’s go ahead and get something to eat. I'm starving~” The husky remarks, rubbing his gut as he hops out of the chair, making his way over towards the nearby kitchen to start cooking for the both of them. Yoshi just hums to himself, offering a smile as he goes to put away the books. He couldn’t help but wonder just why he took those books out again.. Well not that it matters. It was time to eat anyways~
