"Umbreons are quite special, as they only evolve as an Eevee under the light of the moon while experiencing a peak positive emotional state. Why, then, is the resulting Pokémon a Dark type? That question is not nearly as interesting as the Pokémon itself, but I'll try my best.

When an Eevee associates its happiest feelings with the night, it's evolved form will embrace a lifestyle that fits perfectly as a creature most active when the sun goes down. Stalking prey from the shadows for hours on end, using playful trickery to avoid danger, but most of all, chasing any and all means of sexual gratification when possible.

The mischievous Umbreon exhibits these behaviors as a trained Pokémon, but due to the years of bonding it would take to evolve them into what they are, all those countless nights spent together, it makes sense that their human partners see only the best sides of them. Friendship always melts into pure love if put under a great heat every once in a while."
