Wow. And here I am, putting "big cable" in google search to make that video. Impressive

Knowledge of deprecated cabling gets me all the dates, lemme tell ya…
Very cute character and fun video, I’m looking forward to seeing what you do next.

RS232 is still widely used in industrial control (DB9 and DB25), for out-of-band consoles on routers (though some use an RJ45 jack for the physical port on the router itself), and a ton of internal semi-proprietary stuff like medical equipment. They have the advantage of being well shielded and are physically very tough, and are found where interoperability with older equipment is required (like DB15 VGA on many modern servers that have hundreds of cores and terabytes of RAM). But yeah, it's been a while since desktop PCs had RS232 ports. Gone are the days where you could beat the hell out of someone with a SCSI cable that you'd connected a terminator to.

Serial ports - look them up. They’re not really used anymore. I think it’s been nearly a decade since I’ve seen one.

it was a parallel port cable in the video though
That's a DB25 connector... which can be for an old-style RS-232 serial port OR a parallel port. However, the cable for a parallel port had a male connector. What was shown was a DB25 cable with a female connector, and the thickness of the cable itself is consistent with a serial cable (that only used at most 9 wires, usually fewer) compared to a much thicker parallel port cable, which used between 18 and 25 wires. I can provide pinouts if you want.
"Technically correct" may be the best kind of correct, but you'd better BE correct.
Everyone be mentioning VGA ports, but no ones talking about:
SCSI
LAN
DisplayPort
DVI
And much more other i couldn't find info about

that was actually a parallel port in the video. serial ports only have 9 pins, parallel ports have 25 pins and are a lot wider but they are similar in design
