ive havent played psuedoregalia, but this idea does seem familiar. They are definitely helping him through a journey, especially the wizard. I think an important question to ask is, do you think these dreams exist? I hope the feel of these scenes change depending on what you think, because if they are fabricated, it's introspection; if they aren't, it's fantasy.

My current headcanon is that they work kind of like Sybil from Psuedoregalia, where they are entities that drift among the sea of the unconscious and try to help people who choose to stay in their dreams.

His memories are being read, and being this dream is all in his mind, it stands to reason anything in his mind would be available for them to access. Checks out.
