I think an important question to ask is, do you think these dreams exist? I hope the feel of these scenes change depending on what you think, because if they are fabricated, it's introspection; if they aren't, it's fantasy.

His memories are being read, and being this dream is all in his mind, it stands to reason anything in his mind would be available for them to access. Checks out. I wonder what they're trying to find.
