A few months had passed since that fateful night. Luigi and King Boo sat in their now shared throne room, cuddling together on the latter's throne, with the former donning his new royal attire as the queen of Evershade Valley. They affectionately rubbed their swollen bellies that held their growing babies-they were both pregnant with triplets, although they wanted to be surprised about the genders.

"It won't be long before they arrive, my queen." King Boo noted happily.

"Yeah, I can't wait to see them." Luigi replied. "I'm glad Mario's come around to us, too."

When Mario found out about their marriage, he was initially against them being together. He still clearly remembered being captured by the ghost king, and questioned how Luigi could possibly fall in love with him after everything he did. But after Luigi calmed him down and explained King Boo's change of heart, and seeing how happy his brother was with his new husband, Mario found it in him to accept their marriage, although he was still leery about the ghost. He was also very excited to learn that they were expecting children.

"Your brother loves you more than life itself, my dear." King Boo said. "For him, any change, big or small, is worth your happiness."

"Yeah, I really do have the best brother ever." Luigi said. "And the best husband ever." They shared a quick kiss before he continued. "I just wish he would relax around you a little more."

"I know how protective he is of you." King Boo said. "And given what I've done in the past, I can't blame him for not trusting me."

Luigi huddled closer to his husband. "Don't worry, I'm sure he'll come around to you in time. Once he's reminded of how happy we are together, maybe he'll learn to accept you."

King Boo chuckled. "You really are a sweetheart, Luigi." he said, the queen giggling as the king nuzzled and kissed his forehead, then his lips.

"I love you, my king."

"I love you, too, my queen. You and our little ones, always."
