So far, the only interaction we've seen between Circe and Drakon is them fucking. I do wonder what exactly was said or happened between them to give her such a low opinion of him... y'know, besides the whole 'petrifying people and keeping them on display' thing. I guess maybe that could be bad enough on its own...

It all really depends on the lore.
Some vampires are also emotionally dead and their whole thing is chasing a high they had in life and never being able to really obtain it, only able to get fragments of it from the blood they consume. Basically focusing more on the addiction narrative than any others.
Other forms of undeath come with varying levels of "detachment". Some liches, mummies, and vampires have the ability to be "fully alive" for stretches of time with various means. Some ghosts can experience the full range of emotions and just lack physical joys and even some of them can "physically manifest" for stretches of time.
I'm a (pun intended) die hard vampire stan and would take that bite pretty quickly but it'd have to be the right sort of vampire. Buffy verse vamps aren't even the person they used to be and are just blood demons wearing their skin so that's a no go and while fun to play it'd kinda suck (pun not intended) to be a World of Darkness vamp no matter your Clan but that's more of a World of Darkness problem than anything dealing with being a vampire.
So, yeah, it's heavily dependent on what lore your specific brand of undead is working under.

I mean, if we're going off the stat blocks, then the Lich is purely arcane power. They are an 18th level wizard, meaning 9th level spells... plus damage and condition immunities, truesight 120ft.
Moving a bit more into lore. Heck a lich can learn wish and can re-write reality as they see fit through endless arcane mastery of spells. They can still shapechange, make clones, have simulacrums. They functionally immortal and through spells can have basically every positive feature of the vampire.
While alternately, the Vampire Spellcaster is only a 9th level wizard, so only 5th level spells... has damage resistances but not immunities, and has baked in vulnerabilities & weaknesses.

Vampires kind of have a similar immortality to phylacteries, though. When they suffer enough damage, they turn into mist and return to their coffins to regenerate. You have to either defeat them in sunlight / running water, or stop them from returning to their coffins for 2 hours in order to permanently destroy them. And if a bound coffin is destroyed, it's a lot cheaper to replace than a Phylactery.
Also, vampires regenerate 20 HP at the start of each turn (6 seconds in real time). Meaning that you gotta keep the pressure on constantly if you hope to take one down.
If a vampire kills somebody with their bite, and the body is then buried, it rises the following night as a Spawn that is permanently charmed under their control. Spawns don't have the full range of abilities a true vampire possesses, but they're still incredibly dangerous with 16 in Strength, Dexterity and Constitution.
Spawns have a weaker version of regeneration, that heals 10 HP per turn, and they can become true vampires if their masters allow them to drink their blood.
You release a single vampire into an unsuspecting village, and within a couple nights, you end up with a small army of extremely resilient servants. Any one of whom can probably solo a village themselves, on account of their rapid healing, and taking half damage from non-magical weapons.

I was more specifically referencing D&D, which is where this story is supposedly set in, as Circe lives in Sigil.
But compare the state of the body for each undead type.
Vampires - Eternally young, and near perfectly preserved from how you were in life. Also, massive increases to nearly all your attributes. True vampires have 18 in everything except Intelligence and Wisdom.
Lich - Rotted away until you're nothing but bones. What's the point of going on? You can't eat, you can't drink, you can't sleep or fuck. You're just shambling around in a state of perpetual consciousness for eternity.

Personally, I always felt vampirism would be the more preferable route to go for undeath.
All other forms of undead pretty much reduce you to a state where you're physically / emotionally numb.
What's the point of achieving eternal life, if you lose your ability to enjoy it's pleasures?
'course, the hard part would be finding someone who turns you into a full vampire, and not just one of their spawn.

While the hilarious and creative fetish art is what people usually associate with pankallisti artwork, I really dig it when we get these cool "serious" character beats. Agreed. Porn is nice, and will always be happy to see more of it from Pankallisti, but I'm invested in the story too!
