Very long passed since Nuu last heard from her hunter friend… She asked around, but no bugs seen her friend in a while either. Some reacted funny, jumpy, twitchy to question, did not want to say much. Ma, so cruel! Keeping things from Nuu, keeping Nuu from her friend!

So Nuu decided to track her scent herself. Soon found clear trail, and followed it into tunnels much dark and scary, deep, deep below, deeper than Nuu did ever go before… Nuu had much surprise to meet tall warrior lady from bell town such deep below! She too had gone look for friend. But she was much odd. Legs shaky, breath all heavy, and covered in friend’s scent all over! Stronger than Nuu ever felt it, even when almost touching! Nuu admits to jealous feelings…

But tall warrior lady said friend was not there, that friend was thinking not like herself anymore. Did not want much talk, said we must quick leave the dangerous place. All this makes such little sense to Nuu… Nuu must go to see and learn about her hunter friend.[/i]

Hornet’s journey has reached its conclusion.

With the Beast Crest now permanently fused to her shell, the spider’s metamorphosis is complete. She ceaselessly stalks through the far, dark reaches of the kingdom, seeking to sate her boundless urges through any means...

Well, here we are! After almost two months of planning and working on this drive, it definitely feels a bit surreal. I tend to avoid big art projects like the plague because they don’t gel well with my neurotic perfectionism, you see =v=; But with that said, I am immensely proud of how this whole thing shaped up, and immensely grateful for everyone’s support and engagement. I hope you’ve enjoyed the ride.~

Little fun fact, Hornet’s final form here was heavily inspired by the black widow spider! With the bulky, rounded lower body and the little splash of bright red her tattered cloak adds. Now that she’s fully settled into her new form, I imagine she’s frighteningly nimble and stealthy for her size, taking on the ambush tactics of her Pharlid ancestors; getting suddenly pinned under that is an instant game over. Is whoever or whatever she’s stalking here a potential mate, or meal? Maybe both, wouldn’t be the first for a bug/arachnid. I deliberately left the exact nature of her “hunger” a bit ambiguous, fill in the blanks with your personal preference.
