Sure, but I wasn't mainly joking.
When designing bridges, it's important to always ensure that the bridge's structural integrity maintains beyond a distributed force multiplied by a large scalar, not just accounting for worst case traffic, usually because of material decay over time. However, several bridges designed by the Germans almost a hundred years ago hold up well today because they [i]were[/i] overengineered with higher safety standards. Things have certainly changed today, though.
Thus, if I had to put locks on a bridge, it'd be those, not just any bridge.
