[/quote] Yes, mostly by people who have taken the time to evaluate their own feelings. It can even be a sign that they've been to therapy, but the language has spread outside of therapy now. Though; of course, it can also be used by pricks that weaponize therapy speak to seem objective and impartial. Red flags are if they keep pressing a matter that you've made clear you're not interested in talking with them about or if they continue to take on the role of a therapist despite not being one; sometimes even going as far as to throw out one or multiple diagnostics/conditions to label you with. Even if they are a therapist, and even if they are correct, even if they claim to or do have your best interests in mind that would not make it okay to do.

I've heard this from women in college, so I wanted to give it an academic thoughtful way of phrasing things. Thought it might lend some flavor to the characterization.
