Context/On Scene: He was held/detained harshly of him being a suspect of being involved of Ofelia's disappearance and the brutal murder of Simon Rawrh, who was killed by the Kuchisake Onna. After even being held behind bars for suspicion, the Sheriff got murdered and he was off the list of suspicion. Vanessa felt bad for him, and felt he needed a friend than to assume all the police force is bad.
