Earlier this year, I met Au Fay at Further Confusion doing a Chinese language 101 panel, which I filmed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3K5OEe4YmE He did the same panel at PAW Con this year on Sunday, November 8th, unfortunately I wasn't able to attend it since I was at my artist alley table. However Peter the cat managed to meet up with Au Fay afterward and take a selfie together! If Peter wanted to say "I am a cat" in Mandarin Chinese, it would be 我是一只猫 or "wǒ shì yì zhī māo." In my video, I link a Google doc Au Fay wrote on Chinese furry terminology, and it shows how to say "I am X species" and talk about furries in Chinese! Maybe Peter should find some Chinese Garfield books, in which Garfield's name is transliterated as 加菲 or Jiāfēi.
