Bremner sat on the couch, remote in hand, as the warm glow of the boob tube filled the room. Another late evening with nothing but his hyperactive imagination, and the raccoon was ready for another night of insomnia. At least he could work on clearing his video backlog while he waited for exhaution to take over. He pressed a few buttons, the screen turning black as the first show began to load.
Satisfied that he had resumed his playlist, the blue and red raccoon leaned against an armrest in the dark, ready for his nightly entertainment to start. A few seconds later, it was back on screen and he watched intently, chuckling at a few jokes here and there, glad to have something to distract himself.
Pretty soon, Bremner was watching one video after another as he went through his playlist, not a care on his mind except whatever was in front of him on TV. A silly video here, some edutainment there, a clip of something neat, the raccoon let himself lose track of time.
At some point, he probably should have stopped. Maybe it was when he finished catching up and autoplay started suggesting new videos for him to look at. Maybe it was when the audio started getting this weird hum. Or maybe it was when the screen put up a video of a giant turning spiral. But by then, Bremner was too enthralled by to notice. Too eager to listen to what the TV told him to do. Too sleepy…too obedient…
And so Bremner sunk down further into the couch, further into the commands, and turned up the volume. The TV told him to keep watching, and he did. The TV told him it felt good to obey, and it did. The TV told him to grow, and he did. And it felt good to obey that command…
Was in a bit of a mood when I commissioned this pic from Pawgoop. A bit of a hypno mood & a little hyper fixation later, this was the result. Would still love to be in Bremner's shoes (paws? feet?), but then again who wouldn't?
