My second pic for FebROOary 2025 after Cynthia Kane at the beach was this action shot of one of the many avatars I designed for WiL's ZOZ executing a flying knee kick with Quickflint energy. Whatever's on the receiving end is in for a world of hurt!

This one took longer to do than the first because I had to answer the tricky question of how to convey motion on a still image in textmode graphics without sacrificing the level of detail that was characteristic to my work at this point, and mere motion lines weren't going to do the job. Eventually I hit upon a style of motion smearing drawn as a blurry, non-overlapping trail. Despite the ANSI artscene's history of comic book fandom, no major scene artist to my knowledge has attempted to translate the visual language of comic books to the medium, merely content with replicating keyframe poses from comics. It always feels weird to realize you're doing something no one in the scene is doing!
