Part of a small batch of drawings I commissioned off of this artist back when we had a friendship of sorts going on (and I like to support my friends if I can), this is the second time I paid her to draw Melee. While the first drawing was a more detailed piece complete with a background, this second drawing, done about two years later, was much more basic, being little more than a colored digital sketch. An artist can improve quite a bit in two years if they keep up the craft, and Diz here was no exception, as I feel she did a better job catching Melee's personality here than in the previous drawing.

By this point, I already had Melee's default outfit set, but I told the artist that she was allowed to take liberties with his attire if she so desired, thus the design is not exact with my own. Same deal with the sword.

I really like this drawing and I was glad I got to commission the artist in question. It's simple, but it really shows off Melee's shyness well. Judging from the smile, I'd assume someone of note just paid him a compliment and he's too flattered to figure out a good response aside from "thank you." He doesn't have the highest self-esteem, so it's not exactly hard to usher that reaction out of him... I wish people complimented him more.
