Wendy Marvell found herself more alone than ever one day. Natsu's usual team asked her to sit out a mission and claimed it might be a tad too dangerous at her current level. Charla was busy showing Happy how an Exceed properly grooms oneself after being appalled by Natsu's cleaning habits rubbing off on the blue cat.

Wendy retreated to the west woods of Magnolia where she sat in a tree and allowed her anxieties to catch up with her. An inner voice kept telling her that they were leaving her. Just like Grandeeny. Just like "Jellal." Just like Cait Shelter. The more she tried to argue against it, the more the voice pushed back. She was useless, a total drag. Nobody wanted her. Nobody needed her.

Wendy's tears were interrupted by the sharp sound of a hiss coming from ahead of her. She quickly lifted her head in confusion before gasping in horror at the brown scaled python before her. Before she could fear becoming his lunch, Kaa was quick to put on a rather soft and paternal expression before extolling about how a poor little child has been left alone by the world, deprived of purpose in life or even unconditional love.

"We'll jusssst have to fixxxx that now, won't we?" he hissed before his eyes produced a magical rainbow radiance.

Wendy had been put at ease by Kaa's words enough to look him in the eye and become hook by his magical spell. Her expression of anxiety and fear melted away into one of fascination with her mouth hanging open. Such a warm glow. Such an addicting rhythm these colors gave. She could feel the voice becoming silenced along with any other bad thought when the radiant rainbow washed over her with what she could only describe as... pure bliss.

Wendy's eyes reflected Kaa's colorful gaze as it flooded out from her pupils. It felt too much better than wallowing in her state of self-deprivation. For once, all that troubled her... didn't matter anymore so long as she felt happy. Kaa found himself too charmed by Wendy to consider eating her but did enjoy the idea of a pet human, an adorable little thing that he could play around with. Thus he set to putting her under his deepest trance.

Kaa began with his tail mischievously tickling Wendy's left barefoot in order elicit the Smile on her face when she giggled. Yes, that goofy grin his victims were known for once they began to fall far no matter their resistance. Wendy was already rushing towards the bliss his eyes provided, desiring an escape from her woes. All the rock python was doing was adding another layer of happiness, one that stretched that silly smile from cheek to cheek in a most uncanny valley manner.

"I'm not like those fair weather friendssssss, little Wendy," Kaa promised with his paternal tone of voice, bringing his right cheek up to her left cheek. "I'll keep you ssssssafe from heartbreak and never let you lossssse your sssssmile." Wendy's eyes followed the python's gaze longingly. "You'll become my daughter, my preccccciousssss little girl, and be showered with a lifetime of blissss jussssst like thisssss." His promises only made her fall fast near the point of no return. "All you musssst do issss... trusssst in me."

PING!

Carla flew out to the woods after realizing how long Wendy had been gone. She bemoaned how the young lady got so caught up in her woes and cried at the drop of a dime. However, her blood ran cold at the sight of Wendy next to what was clearly a large python.

Carla covered her mouth in her growing distress. She could see that the beast was long and large enough to swallow Wendy alive. Even more harrowing were the colors glowing in the young dragon slayer’s eyes.

Carla learned of serpents who used magic to hypnotize their prey and subdue them without constructing them. Many a great wizards had their legacies sullied by being reduced to a grinning goofball and swallowed helplessly. She knew full well she couldn’t fight it off but couldn’t keep herself from standing by.

Like any Fairy Tail member, she flew in and sought to rescue her family. All she could do was tackle Wendy in the face and attempt to knock into the python. However, Kaa narrowly dodged what would’ve likely knocked him for a loop. His previous delight in toying with Wendy’s heart had become irritation over this interloper.

Wendy fell to the ground on her left side but didn't blink or let her smile fall in the slightest. Kaa had put her under such a strong trance thanks to her desire to escape from her emotional distress. If anything, she let him have his way with her so long as she could smile. Even as Carla tried to shake her awake desperately, Wendy was in too deep indulging in this addictive bliss. Her body laid limp in a borderline lifeless state.

The Exceed Princess decided to use her Aero Magic to carry her friend back to Fairy Tail for some sort of cure. Carla was just hoping that Porlyusica would be near and not in one of her moods when she felt something loop around her neck. Her next breath became a hacking choke when the scaly coil gripped her throat painfully, both eyes going wide with shock.

Carla found herself lifted up into the air by this coil as her torso was similarly wrapped up tightly to keep her from wriggling. Her arms were pinned to her side while her chest was constricted with a similarly painful grip. Just when it seemed like it couldn't get any worse, she saw Kaa come into view with a rather vengeful glare.

"So you're Carla I pressssume," he hissed haughtily, seeming more offended by his interruption. "I heard quite a bit of you from Wendy." He eased up on the constriction if only to not kill Carla before she could be properly punished. "By way of peaking into her mind." A smile spread across Kaa's face as his eyes began to glow with the very radiant rainbow that enchanted Wendy.

Carla found herself able to breath better but was quick to shut her eyes again when she saw Kaa's glowing gaze. "I won't... let you... eat Wendy..." she vowed while panting, determined to endure as much as it took. However, there was something about those colors. Something... nice that she felt when she got a glimpse.

"Eat her?" Kaa replied in bemusement before snickering over the kitten's attempts at heroism. "I could never dream of devouring sssssuch an adorable little girl." He glanced down at his little friend's goofy grin. "I intend to make her my newesssst pet, something to entertain me between mealsssss."

"W-What?" Carla struggled to say. Her left eye peaked open after listening to Kaa's hypnotic voice and dared to look at his glowing gaze. It wasn't long until said eye reflected those deceptive colors.

"Yessss, my adorable little Wendy," Kaa gloated, delighting in Carla's newfound distress. "I intend to cherisssssh her pretty blue hair and protect that wonderful sssssmile of her'ssss." He decided to rub salt in the wounds. "Protect it from bulliessss like you, that is."

"M-me?" Carla replied in confusion, her right eye struggling to stay closed. "I... never...?" Her ESP was all that was keeping her from fully succumbing but her heart couldn't keep from feeling blissful temptations.

"Have you now?" Kaa questioned with a wry, playful look on his face. "Do you not berate her for sssso much assss sssshedding a tear?"

Carla had no response as a select few memories of when she told off Wendy for being such a crybaby. "I swear you'll drive me to catnip," came to mind much to her shame. Since their time in Edolas, she'd become less sharp-tongued but looking back was... hard. Her right eye began to pry open.

"Yesssss, Wendy's mind wassss an open book," Kaa continued. "Many chapterssss pertaining to how you've made her feel... wrong for being more than a little ssssensssstive." He could feel Carla beginning to cave, yearning for an escape herself. "Ssssshe feelssss ssssso low about hersssself already but you jusssst had to twisssst the knife, don't you."

"I..." Carla began, trying not to cave. "I didn't mean to..." The shame and the desire to escape into the colorful bliss was wearing down her resistance.

"Naughty kittenssss need to learn their lesssson," Kaa suggested, amused by how she was fighting a losing battle. "You can be Wendy'ssss friend... onccce I have fixxxed you."

"There we are now, kitty," Kaa cooed to the additions to his collection. "Ssssssmilesssss for daysssss."

He set Carla down and uncoiled her on the ground. The once snooty-faced Exceed now wore a most uncharacteristic grin that stretched from cheek to cheek way too far. Her eyes were wide and unblinking as they reflected the glowing rings of color that Kaa hypnotized her with. If there was a shred of her original personality left, it was buried deep below mounds of artificial bliss.

"Wendy, my darling daughter," Kaa called out fatherly, slithering over to the young girl still laying on her side. "There'sssss sssssomebody who would love to sssssee you again."

Wendy responded promptly, wearing the same silly expression as Carla in her hypnosis while rolling onto her back. She sat back up and turned around on her bottom, her back now against a nearby tree while her legs laid out before her. Wendy's goofy grin met Carla's silly smile once they faced each other.

“Sssshe’sssss been a very rude kitty but Carla’ssss truly ssssorry,” Kaa hissed with satisfaction over his little collection. “Sssshe would love nothing more than to be the best little sssisssster sssshe can be.” He hovered over Carla's head. "Isssssn't that right, Carla?"

"Yes. It. Is," Carla spoke robotically, her lips remained stretched from cheek to cheek. "I. Am. A. Good. Kitty."

He slithered up to Wendy’s plastic smile. “Do hold her in her armsssss and ssssit together like good ssssissssterssss do,” he ordered with the vehneer of a warm father.

Wendy robotically went over to pick up Carla and found zero resistance from the stiff-standing Exceed. Crossing her arms, she held the white cat up to her chest like a normal little girl with her stuffed doll. In fact, Carla's head even lolled and leaned forth listlessly without her plastic smile flinching once.

"And here I thought you couldn't be anymore adorable," Kaa gloated with a smirk. "Daddy needssss to sssslither off and make ssssure that no bad people will try to tear ussss apart." He turned away from Wendy and Carla. "Do sssssit down and wait for me to return..."

And so Wendy settled down to rest her legs and her back against a big tree, her bare feet stretch out for all to see. Carla remained in her arm with her goofy grin no less faint that the Sky Maiden's. The pair waited for Kaa the Python, firmly conditioned in believing he was their caregiver. Their protector.

Their father.

"Ssssstand up, dear Wendy..."

Wendy's stretched out smile and wide eyes barely even twitched as she rolled off her side, onto her back and lifted herself back up to her feet. The way Kaa saw it, she brought herself upright by her heels alone. The python was proud to have instilled such a strong sense of loyalty in his daughter.

Kaa set Carla down by a tree and let her slump in what passed for sitting. The cat's big head hung listlessly while her limbs were slack like a stuffed plushy. The goofy grin under her wide, rainbow filled eyes were a far-cry from her sharp glares. She actually looked like a cat for once.

"Ssssstep forward..."

Wendy put one foot in front of the other with her arms out straight by her side and stepped onto a rock just before Kaa. The python stared with his alluring glow high above so she craned her head up to look him into his eyes and even stood on her tippy toes.

Like a daughter to her father.

"Your 'friendssss' may sssssoon come for you," Kaa hissed. "Come to take you away from me when I give you ssssso much sssssolacccce." He smirked with his little scheme in mind. "But I can take you sssssomeplace they'll never find, someplace where you can live in bliss forever."

Yes. In bliss. With Kaa's stare shining light in her darkness. Chasing away the bad thoughts. Muting that voice that sought to bring her down. Nothing but smiles from her daddy, Kaa.

"Firssssst... dissssscard your clothessss," Kaa hissed, his tail slipping the straps on Wendy's dress. "To throw off the sssscent..." Wendy stood before her in nothing but a pair of panties while her dress lay around her feet.

"Next... slip into my stomach," Kaa ordered with a hint of drool dripping. "Allow my innards to disguise your smell."

Wendy saw Kaa widen his maw and slowly bring it down towards her. To any other little girl, she would've cried her eyes out at the scary snake about to eat her.

Wendy merely smiled.
