So Bowser enlists the help of mushroom-like creatures known for hurling poisonous mushroom bombs at their enemies to take over the Mushroom Kingdom... only for said mushroom bombs to somehow be swapped with normal mushrooms that are then thrown at the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom (and her friend) who then proceed to decimate the mushroom-like creatures with their mushroom-enhanced abilities in retaliation.

You can probably tell what the fatal flaw in this plan was now.
