I imagine the first time of hitting that roid rage would be terrifying to her, as she'd wake up covered in someone elses blood and not know exactly what happened.

As she builds a tolerance over time, she gets much better control of the rage and can use it against even the smartest or strongest opponents and win.

the "rebirth" is an abstract thought here rather than physical rebirth--she woke up, alive but unaware of what happened. the drugs gave her a new life one that will change her entire future from here forward.
