[@Anonymous #362F](/posts/3702002#comment_21327) Nitroglycerin and sand makes nitroglycerin in sand. You need an inert sorbent (kieselguhr in case of Nobel, but stuff like earthware dust potentially works too), and sand isn't a sorbent.
