What is this? Momster manual is my attempt to draw various mayternity inspired monsters every day during month of may, with small side part for bits of lore and maybe even rules on occasion. Monsters will be either individual charcters or representatives of a type of creature.

Image sets will consists of few monsters with same theme.

This the forth image in the modern setting set, with a hint of horror.

Mayternity 2026 Day 4: The Minotaur

One rich man’s need to clone an extinct species from some horn in a archological site, all because of need to “own” a creature long extinct in their personal zoo.

And when that creature proves to be a lot more than a mare cow, greed and need to see what it really is comes in and from there, trying to make into product, to be mass produced and sold.

And, for all we know, it might have worked too, large bull men to use as workers, dumb and obedient, the pitch was great, idea smart.

But then the hubris of his act came.

Had the rich bastard not cheaped out on the handlers of the beast, had a recently fried employ not decided to leak some papers, had an angry protestor not thrown a molotov cocktail at the manor earlier that day...

As it stands however, those things did occur, a chain broke, a fire alarm rung, and the rich man is now equal to all, for no matter how rich you are, all are equal when an axe is put into your skull”

Inspirations and Mechanics

The Name is clear, the mythological beast of island of minos, the half-bull monster of the labirinth, the visual as well, cows kept for meat industry and milk, with coloring of mighty beasts from the era of early civilizations (in fact, the fur pattern is based on minoan depiction of a bull), and as befits the nature of a greek inspired story, hubris is needed and what is more fitting than taking monster of old story, mixing it with horrors of modern times and giving this monster a person to hunt, person who as is sadly almost realistic now, is both rich and cheap, not paying their workers, or for their own safety, for let it be the out of touch rich to walk into a den of a beast they made with no protection...

How would such a creature appear in an adventure? This is a minotaur, perhaps, it comes from a horn of a beast from the old island of Minos, or maybe it was an experiment that slipped in past the watchful eye of the law? Regardless, big brutish monstrous woman is now out perhaps the very protest that was surrounding the building was her way out, a bit of cloth to cover her, maybe a direction to run in and she is gone...or perhaps she will find others up for a fight for those who would try to exploit her, after all, minotaurs do eat people, so perhaps they see eye to eye to someone who wants to "eat the rich"?
