The protagonists believe maintaining that Groundhog Day state is saving lives while the antagonists believe the substance can be used to undo and sidestep the whole predicament. I doubt they're going borderline character assassinate Kit and Kaboodle with a Resident Evil, Eternal Darkness or especially a Manhunt game, but them accidentally helping get a Bad Ending- which is just brutal for the people they want to save until the end would be interesting.
