The space between the mule compounds can be optionally filled with hazards catering to various fetishes. This space must be navigated if one tries to escape. The lizards however, are very incentivized to keep their mules captive/alive. Any lizard who loses a mule and can't get another to replace them, will be forced to fill that mule's spot. Any mules who do manage to escape or reach some kind of game over state, are allowed to spectate the simulation until it ends.
