A battle that is definitely lost, but they're struggling, sacrificing theirselves for the tribe.
A commission that was very interesting to accept, is not the kind of issues I have taken before, but when the one who asked me for this (who preferred to leave it anonymous, and I respect it) talked to me about the back story of this, I was moved inside.
More than a bloody and violent scene, what I'm seeing here is an imaginary child's play, where the drama is so pure that even are deaths, resistance, nervousness about not wanting to lose.
For more innocent than I shape often the childhood, is because in my childhood I was a good, innocent (and bored) child, but I remember other kids were violent on their games, imagining scenes where there was blood, guns, shooting, losses, etc.
The truth is that I had so much fun drawing this scene, where Indians and Cowboys facing death with an abysmal disadvantage in weapons, but still the Indians didn't give up, and battle until the last moment.
