I understand the desire to give an alternate perspective, but I personally really like the consistent 2D view. It made it feel like it could have been part of the game, an alternate, twisted fate for the characters. Shifting the viewpoint disrupted that.
It's still really damn hot, and I enjoyed it a lot, but, in my opinion, it doesn't fit as well with the rest of the set as it would have if it were to remain purely 2D.
