I love the dynamic these two have.
Maybe the ring grants telekinesis or aura projection or something similar? If it grants powers that don't involve physically changing the user, it should at least grant enhanced strength, but the ability to affect things at a distance like aura projection or telekinetic abilities would provide more utility.
Careful Scylla, Coalt might get jealous.
