The race was freed from Flame Legion rule because a female charr, sick of the Flame Legion's 'females stay in the kitchen' mindset started an uprising. Though, IIRC, the uprising did not really complete until it was found out the Flame Legion had the race worshipping a false god. It was such a breath of fresh air after WoW had made every race's females in their game 'busty with a pinched waist' because of the 'horny male gamer' mindset. Though it also drives me nuts when someone makes a Charr OC and gives them tits. It's like pointing at an anthro horse and saying 'This is my anthro centaur OC'. No, no it's not; Anatomy central to the species was changed.
