Waking up in his den, a little hole nestled near the top of a great big oak tree, Vel yawned as he rolled onto his back, the pure white bunny's back legs stretched out while his front legs rested on his belly, his ears tucked underneath his head like a pillow. Though looking like any old feral rabbit, like the hares that dotted the forests and fields of the rather rural area, Vel was far from an average resident of the woods, his eyes slowly opening up as he smacked his lips, a smile on his muzzle as he peered out of his den. From atop his tree, the rabbit could survey the entire homestead of the cardinal family he had been sent to keep safe, spotting the head of the household stepping out of the main cabin nestled in the middle of a few barns and small fields. Watching the avian man sporting a vibrant red coat of feathers heading over to one of the barns to milk the cows, Vel decided to hop out of his den, a relaxed smile on the bunny's face as he began to float through the air like a leaf carried by the wind, twirling towards the man. Vel was a brownie, a fairy that had spawned in his tree barely a year ago, on the very day the youngest daughter of the family had been born. Though he didn't really know much about why exactly he was there, the bunny had stayed with the family for his entire existence, watching Theodore and the man's two young kids from a distance most of the time, having recently gotten a little more brave and curious with the trio of birds. Swooping down right next to Theodore, his back legs dangling down and his ears flapping in the wind, Vel giggled as he circled around the man, watching the cardinal grabbing a few buckets. He didn't have to worry about Theodore seeing him, since it seemed as if adults simply couldn't even perceive his existence, looking right through him as if he was air, though the same couldn't be said for kids. Following the bird into the barn, Vel let out a small squeak as the man slammed the door shut before he could get through, just barely saving himself from getting smacked in the face. Not giving up quite so easily, the fairy simply floated off to the side of the barn, landing in the grass and hopping along like his feral counterparts, shrinking down to the size of a little mouse as he came to a small hole chewed into the wall, slipping through with ease. Only having existed for a mere year, the fairy had wisely decided that he should give himself a little more time to learn and mature before he'd try anything more challenging than the basics he'd gotten the grasp of, not wishing to endanger himself or the family on whose land he was living.
