Ryder's first time getting this close to an alien creature of this nature was a fascinating experience for the both of them.

Verra bore an intimidating visage of a large chest, made larger by a thick carapace and large shoulders built to carry it. Mandibles fluttered on either side of her equally durable head, hinting at two sets of massive fangs and a row of smaller but no less thick and sharp looking teeth set behind them. Almost like an orca's dental was formed to fit in an extra wide sabertoothed cat-dog with leathery scales.

For all of her bulk, sharpness and ridged posture, Ryder was drawn in by a bright and playful glint in her eyes when they first made eye contact. Hugging her neck inspired a shift in her wight, lifting a fore leg to awkwardly mimic the gesture by grasping her talons about the man's leg. Leaning her head forward and cranking her neck towards him pressed her firm chest against him, trapping her heat against much of his side to begin nipping at his arm.

Instinctively, Ryder grabbed the beasts tongue like he were playing with a giant dog by grabbing it's playful bites. "Whoa, she just let's me grab on her and doesn't fight back." he thought as the tactile experience compelled his hand to knead into the thick muscle. Such was a relief after seeing even more of her teeth right in his face. "It's roughly textured on the surface, and yet so soft and squishy to rub on."

Little did he know, Verra was thinking the same thing as her fore paw kneaded on his thigh.

Commission completed for CrimsonDrider, last May.

Crimson chose one of my characters that have not received as much attention, to include in this commission as a gift for my Birthday - June 12th. Which I am sharing with you, on my birthday!

Inspired by the notion to blend my two favorite races from the Mass Effect series, I created a hybrid of Varren and Turian. Crimson thought my creation looked like a "Good Girl", and I must say that was an accurate observation.

She embodies the invasive tenacity of life on Tuchanka, and the deep seeded sense of  community and disciplined stemming from the Turian's militarized culture. Much to Ryder's surprise, she's pretty well desensitized, open to touch, and practiced in handling creatures smaller than herself. For her species, I've considered calling them Verrian or similar but have yet to commit to it. Her name as an individual though, is Verra.

While this artwork is inspired by Mass Effect, Verra and her kind will be seeded throughout my personal mythos Infinite: Between Worlds as a species unique to it.
