Yes the knight needs her she needs him to see her change is not so bad...i think she was infact lonely the first time...also the witch needs to realize people are willing to throw away their humanity for love or pleasure...she should be enjoying the sweet gold she keeps raking in....if she really hates it...she should just stop.
