I made these goobers in Spore and I've only just gotten to drawing one, plus I've had this lore document just sitting around collecting dust, thought I may as well dump it here. I am very proud of it ~w~'

The Balorvans are a dwindling race of small, white, bug-eyed aliens who live in a space station near the center of a recently blown, storming electron charged burning purple nebula known as the Siivian Nebula. Little is known how the Balorvans arrived there, and even less is known about their grave history. Nonetheless, they remain one of the Zephyr Galaxy’s most advanced, content species.

h2. [b]Balorvan Biology[/b]
[b]Physical[/b]
The Balorvans are 4 feet, 4 inches in height on average with a stout, wide pear-shaped body.
Balorvans reach adulthood at 20 years of age, and live for up to 130 years on average.
As Balorvans reach the later stages of their lives, they eventually begin to grow taller, reaching up to 7 feet tall on average.
Balorvans’ forearms and lower legs are covered in a firm, plush, durable deep purple chitin.
Balorvan skin is incredibly resistant to blemishing, causing it to be naturally smooth.
Balorvan tears and blood are sweet.
Balorvans have pink-bioluminescent fore-antennae that glow when given affection.
Balorvans have two fingers and two toes.
Balorvans have two floppy hind-antennae on the root of their head, commonly believed to have been used for finding mates.
Balorvans have remarkably dexterous, long necks that they prefer to keep curled up against their shoulders.
Balorvan spines are innately curved inwards, similar to Lordosis.
Balorvans are hypermobile, able to squeeze one’s self into smaller spaces. Although their heads tend to get in the way of that.
Balorvan sweat is hyper-sterile.
Balorvans have an average reaction time of 80 to 120 milliseconds, the record being 43ms.
Balorvans have sacs on their necks and midriffs called Cervical Pulmones that act as spare lungs that instead convert carbon dioxide into oxygen, allowing them to self-sustain in non-oxygen environments.
Despite Balorvans having large, visibly bug-like eyes, their eyes are remarkably humanoid, their sclera containing cloudy irises, black sclera, and large coloured retinas.
Alcohol is incredibly toxic to Balorvans, though colloquial Poison Ivy extract provides a similar effect.
Balorvans are rarely born with a long, thin, prehensile tail, although it has been recorded to cut their life span in half.
Balorvans hiss similar to Earthly cats.
Balorvan tongues have a texture similar to sandpaper.
Balorvans are remarkably compatible with many other species’ genes, potentially allowing them to create crossbreeds.
Male Balorvans have no eyelashes, shorter hind-antennae, darker pulmones, and are taller on average.
Female Balorvans have long eyelashes, shorter fore-antennae, and are shorter on average.
Primordial Balorvans were much more primal and taller, but for unknown reasons they rapidly evolved into the size they are now.
Primordial Balorvans had a net of psychokinetic telepathy with one another, allowing communication through the mind. Their antennae would glow during the linkage. It's said to still be present in Balorvans the bluer the skin tint of their is.
Balorvans do not have mammary glands and do not grow breasts.
Female Balorvan genitalia are naturally flush with their bodies, their labia majora parting and swelling when aroused.
Male Balorvan genitalia are sheathed within their bodies as well, both their testicles and phallus unsheathe themselves when aroused.
Balorvan semen is incredibly virile, but is entirely incompatible with other species.

It’s rare for Balorvans to hold grudges.
Balorvans have an innate curiosity with the unknown.
Balorvans enjoy assisting others.
Balorvans give a similar reaction to styrofoam as Earthly cats give to cucumbers.
Most Balorvans have forgotten about rain, citizen Balorvans visiting habitable planets get incredibly weary of it when they first experience it.
Balorvans innately cannot understand German.
Balorvans prefer not to wear clothing, but will if required.
Balorvans almost never forget things or people they’re fond of, not even with memory stunting disorders such as Dementia.
9 out of 10 Balorvans develop permanent speech impediments.
It’s in a Balorvan’s nature to travel.
It’s remarkably easy to give a citizen Balorvan brain fog.
Balorvans commonly believe religion is a failed concept in many civilizations, but instead partake in spiritual guidance and cosmic retribution.

h2. [b]Balorvan Lifestyle[/b]
[b]Food:[/b]
Balorvans are omnivorous.
Their favorite meal is Earthly Orange Chicken and Fried Rice.
Balorvans usually get their meats, sugars, and spices imported from other species.
Known food items include a yellow sap-like gelatin called Poñinan, crisp orange grain and bread, a blue and purple fruit similar to watermelon, and stark white foliage similar to iceberg lettuce.
Known drink items include a juice squeezed from green apples called Feuriñan, water, melon juice, and carbonated drinks similar to soda.
Balorvans dislike chewy, gammy food, like beef or bubblegum.
Balorvan utensils include tripod-like forks and Earthly sporks.

[b]Culture:[/b]
Balorvans can take up many jobs in their colony.
Balorvans don’t use conventional money, they use digital credits. (Φ)
Balorvan society is highly militarized, needlessly so with how isolated their home colony is.
The Balorvans live in a large space colony in the approximate center of a burning purple electron-storming nebula. They have yet to name the colony.

The space colony is divided into five sectors:
The Observatory and Research Centre
Residential and Recreational Habitat
Agriculture and Production Centre
Gluonic Development and Power Distribution Facility
Drydock and Cruiser Production

Balorvan young are cocooned in stasis chambers called Cradles in each dwelling until they are 5 years of age.
All Balorvans must take mandatory trigger-discipline classes at 10 years of age, as all Balorvans are given Gluonic Self-Defense Tasers when they reach adulthood.

Balorvan society is separated into occupational classes they call the CEReS system, all of which are free to interact with one another.
Citizens (C-Class) live their lives as normal in the colony, holding jobs such as agriculture and production, and holding families.
Expeditionaries (E-Class) are trained for multiple years to hone their awareness and agility in order to handle towering power armor suits and massive Gluon weaponry during resource expeditions.
Researchers (R-Class) are highly intelligent, many staying to research on the colony, and few going out on expeditions as mission directors and for field research.
Superiors (S-Class) are high-ranking, governmental figures, three  are assigned for each section of the space colony.
Balorvans usually don't go by conventional names, instead going by a code depending on their CEReS class. For example: The goober in the posted image is E-Class ALPHA 6-2, Expeditionary in Alpha Squadron 6, squad member #2. Though Balorvans often give themselves nicknames for convenience. Another example: E-Class ALPHA 6-2 often shortens her name to "Sixtwo."

[b]Technology[/b]
Balorvan technology is incredibly advanced, harnessing a non-irradiant, hyper-fragile nuclear/electricity alternative they name Gluon Power. (GP)
GP is packed into vacuum-sealed power cells full of inert Argon gas.
GP is used in everything in Balorvan infrastructure from ballistic defense weaponry to kitchen appliances to game consoles.
GP is incompatible with common electricity and nuclear power, but in turn it allows Balorvan technology to be completely resistant to EMP weaponry and conventional overload.
GP power cells are used as ammunition for Balorvan weaponry.
E-Class Balorvans often take on expeditions in 6-bal Squadrons, most of the time escorting R-Class Balorvans in researching GP or recovering resources.
