You patiently wait for the alarms to cease while hiding in a locker in the lab. (Another day, another subject breach.) You feel yourself drifting off to sleep, lids drooping once, twice, then suddenly see the massive body of the escaped xenoshark through the metal slats, having jumped down from a ceiling vent with only the lightest taps of claws on metal flooring as noise. You hold your breath as the beast looks around... but fail to suppress the slightest whimper. It was just enough; he jerks his head in your direction, feeling him sense a presence in the locker, feeling dread rapidly build up as he reaches a hand out to pull on the locked door. It rattles noisily, then goes silent, before suddenly being ripped off its hinges by the beast's powerful arms. You swear you can see a grin on his sharkish visage as he reaches for you to drag you off to somewhere you two won't be disturbed so easily.
