For a stint during the late 90s - early 2000s there was an era in which Japanese toys with accompanying anime kinda exploded all over asia... atleast southeast asia as far as I can tell. As a kid I was a victim of this era and had atleast bootleg toys of all of these franchises. At school every year it was like there was a new toy anime that every boy was into. And in some cases they're animes of a pre existing thing that is its own franchise... like fucking duel masters was legitimately straight up JUST MAGIC THE GATHERING.

It's something that wasn't as widespread over in the west seemingly but show an Asian millennial a Tamiya mini 4wd and watch as they have a ratatouille moment. To these day even outside of Japan in some places of Asia (or atleast southeast Asia) still loves this shit... I mean FUCKING CRUSH GEAR STILL HAS TOURNAMENTS IN INDONESIA (y'all are silly over there)
And also somehow beyblade is not only still alive on it's 4th generation
