Blackberry, as noted, is an aspiring writer who desperately wants to create a horror anthology. She just can't stop nitpicking her initial book. In the meantime, she works as a bar tender (not specifically alcoholic) where she's well loved by the regulars. Little do they know how many of her characters are inspired by them.

She meets Roscoe and Honey Tone on their first day in town when they're scoping out potential jobs and lodgings. The three become fast friends and veritable trio. No one is shocked when they start dating.

Berry and Honey are content within the relationship, while Roscoe has occasional partners on the side.
