Now, the party of four turned their attention to the Heartblight crystal on the Cobalt Serpent’s head. The root of the disease that took control over Ivanne G’eelm’s body, mind, and soul, destroying it would quell the serpent’s rage and put an end to its endless display of terror. From their continuous assault on the serpent, even going as far as forcing it to attempt to flee the battle, it had been made especially vulnerable. A simultaneous team attack on the glowing yellow crystal would be their next course of action. Zenchi, Ithaca, Roseland, and Xander all leapt up in an advantageous position over the serpent, primed to unleash some of their most lethal attacks one by one.
Zenchi reared back her sword, striking a heroic posture with the Draconic Wing held high. She focused her full attention on the crystal, swinging straight down with her entire bodyweight. “CLOUD CLEAVER!” Her Lightning-infused sword struck the crystal with such gargantuan force that it could likely be felt throughout the serpent’s full body. Her childhood friend Ithaca followed closely behind with a potent attack of her own. Curiously, she faced away from the serpent in preparation for her move, hiding Evergreen Soul from view. In the blink of an eye, “BACKDRAFT!” She slashed horizontally in the direction of the crystal, firing off a razor-sharp projectile of Wind that could cut clean through just about anything. Following up in a similar manner, Roseland’s turn was up. For once, she chose to forego her signature handguns, Salvo and Impetus. Instead, she bottled her hands together to her side as if she were attempting to conceal something. She shone a bright, scarlet red aura around herself before finally utilizing a skill that she had only learned very recently. She threw her hands forward, letting loose a reality-shattering laser, “SCARLET RAY!” The bright red beam of Magnetic energy seemed to pull the serpent unwillingly closer to her, leaving it no room to escape. While the serpent was drawn nearer and nearer to Roseland’s location, it was the perfect opportunity for Chieftain Xander to land one final blow to the serpent’s morale. He, too, decided to set his weaponry aside to leave his mark. Yes, he would use nothing other than his bare hands against the castle-sized beast. All these years, it had been the Outriders against the Cobalt Serpent, and now, the Chieftain was coming out on top for the first time in all of history. Xander wanted to enjoy this moment, not wishing to let down all those back home or those lost throughout time to the serpent’s deep, dark clutches. Xander rode a plume of ocean Water straight up to the serpent’s face. With Roseland having pulled it in closer for a follow-up attack, he concentrated all his might into his right fist. His entire arm was dripping with Cobalt Water and emanating a deep blue hue. And then, he did it. “GEYSER UPPERCUT!” A hefty upwards punch that would have knocked any man out cold, even the massive sea monster felt it in spades. That punch was personal, a show of absolute disrespect from the Outriders to the serpent. That one punch carried all of the people of G’eelm Outpost’s hopes and dreams, the Outriders’ everlasting yearn for victory, and even the folks back home on Felvhati Isle’s unwavering legacy. The Heartblight crystal was severely damaged, beginning to show its cracks. Now was the time to settle the score for good. Just a little further now.
The Lands Trio arrive at G'eelm Outpost for the next part of their adventure. Supposedly, the Chieftain directly requested the Hero Of The Lands's support for an upcoming mission. What will it be? What challenges might they face? Join the party as they discover the truth of the deep blue sea and what lies just out of sight.
