Mount Marjon, home of the beast men. The fire beasts.  The Ifrit.

Rumor has it that the clans hidden within the caves bathe in fire and fornicate in the shadows. rumors also suggest that one can form a contract with one if you can offer the right price. Those that secure such a contract have always been tight lipped about the price one has to pay.

Upon investigation, it was easy to see this was a robust society, with children, elders, and culture. The chief Allonis, has agreed to speak with me. He is adorned in more finery than others in his clan, despite the ifrit wearing so very little.  His mane of flames does not answer to breeze or wind, but rather his mood.  Others, younger one in particular have what looks like simple hair, with flame flickering through it, while the clan chief has a mane of light so bright, I see no hair within it. He has assured me the flame does not burn unless he is angry and sure enough, I was able to slide my fingers through it and felt nothing but a soft tingle.

Allonis has been very open with me about his clan and culture, expressing a desire to curb some of the more outlandish rumors associated with his people. When I broached the concept of the so called contracts, he became more reluctant to speak.

He explained the contracts have some very real basis, but they do not speak with those unbound on how the contract is made or what it entails.  I was unable to get details, but from the gist of what he said, such contracts form an intense bond with his people.  I believe they may withhold this information to avoid unscrupulous individuals from exploiting these bonds.

But I've noticed even speaking of bonding in this way caused a change in his demeanor.  He leaned closer to me as he spoke, his mane changed color slightly, and a smell I associate with campfires suddenly seemed to emanate from him. His body responded to the topic as well, a noticeable bulge at his loins began to form as he remembered bonding from the past. It suggests a more intimate connection is needed for such a contract.
